2024 By The Numbers
With collaboration at our core, investment of time pays dividends. Circuit Riders invest in the power of people to increase the reach of sustainable safe water systems. We believe it is time well spent.
It is a graduation of sorts, when communities supported by Cova become self-sufficient in providing safe water for residents. It is our goal to work ourselves out of a job, to invest time and care and attention to empower communities and committees to reach safe water sustainability. And while we are never too far removed to supply chlorine, to answer a query, or to lend a hand, our focus can be on supporting new communities when previously-supported water boards graduate to independently, competently, and confidently providing their own safe water system operation and maintenance. This is how our safe-water model gains momentum.
Cova Circuit Riders made over 7,000 visits to partner communities to provide chlorine delivery, water quality monitoring, technical assistance, and training in 2024. This investment in time means that more than 40,000 families were added to our active reach this year. Over 275,000 more people in Central America have access to safe water today than did just the year before. We can think of no greater return on investment.
