Working to protect the most vulnerable
Children should be concentrated on school, not what’s in their drinking water.

Globally, 29% of schools lack safe water and sanitation, with 443 million school days missed due to preventable water-related diseases. When children miss school, they are missing out on more than just their education, they are missing out on their future.
Cova is working to help the next generation thrive through our school Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) program where safe water is provided, basic sanitation is improved, and hygiene education is delivered to students. The impact of safe water in schools is not contained inside classrooms. It serves as a catalyst for healthier families, communities, and futures.

Strong futures start with safe water
443,832 children under the age of 5 die from unsafe water each year.
When it comes to unsafe water, children are the most at risk. More than 1,000 children under the age of five die every day from diseases caused by unsafe water and sanitation. Most of these deaths are easily preventable.
“We can’t go and collect water from the river because we don’t know if it will be clean or dirty. But, in that tank at the school, it is clean. We can see that it is 100% clean because ten children and ten mothers were trained by Cova to manage the system.”
