An Inextricable Link

Safe water is inextricably linked to the health of our planet.

Cova’s work to ensure water stays safe is predicated on there being water to protect.

As climate change reshapes the landscape in Central America—bringing drought, extreme weather, and unpredictable seasons, and making water more scarce—it is also reshaping how Cova shows up in communities, through watershed restoration, reforestation, and environmental education.

Cova recognizes that climate-resilient water systems begin in the landscape. Working alongside communities to protect both the water source and the water supply serves to ensure there continues to be water to protect, even as conditions change and communities grow.

This short video shares how climate change is making access to safe drinking water increasingly difficult and how community-led solutions (including over 25,000 trees planted), are helping meet that challenge to secure a safe-water future.
